Howdy Folks!

Welcome to our little section of wedding registry.

Now, I know what you are thinking. Where's the kitchen stuff? The small appliances? The fancy dishes, beddings, etc. I mean, every time I buy someone registry stuff, I always try and go for the flatware. It was by far my favorite of my parents' wedding gifts. Or barring that, something baking related. I'm all for encouraging the production of tasty treats.

But, being a modern cohabiting couple, we already have all of that good stuff. That's why we're registering here, at a travel website. We love to travel, heck we met in Israel. And we have seen how our adventures together have made us better partners. So, we're thinking that a trip around the world is the perfect way to begin our marriage.

We're starting in New Zealand and that is what you see highlighted below. Our ideas are just too big for this website: it only lets us submit our first destination. From New Zealand we'll fly to Hong Kong, and then travel out from there. Into China? Yes! Down to Vietnam and Cambodia? Definitely. After that it's north to Beijing and we'll hop aboard the Trans-Mongolian railroad and make our way to Moscow & St. Petersburg. Then we'll ride more rails or roads through Eastern Europe and see how far south we can go. From there, possibly Iceland, where we'd hit the natural hot springs and relax for a little while, then fly back to the U.S.

We still need to work out the details. We are tentatively planning to leave in early August, and I suspect it'll be a good 3 month or so trip. We would love to know if you have any suggestions--things we have to see, places we must visit, or foods that should not be missed. Also, are there any books/authors we should read before we go to a particular place, or while we're there?
