A few assumptions can be made: Right now, some of you are scratching your heads, others are wishing they had thought of this earlier, but all of you will be excited about what we are doing and will want to help us out as soon as you find out exactly what it is we're doing!

To answer the ever-present question, we are taking a trip around the world.

Now if you are one of the persons scratching your head and saying, "how are Mary Catherine and Daniel going to get all the things they need for their new life together if all they are registering for is a trip?" Well, Mary Catherine and Daniel already have everything they need. Think of anything that newlyweds need to get their lives started and we already have it. Plates? Got them. Flatware (good flatware)? Have it. Coffee maker? Use it every day. Crock Pot? Still in the box. What about fine china? Don't want it. What we want, and what we NEED is to see and experience the world. That is why we are asking you to help us achieve this goal.

We have a very unique opportunity. We are booking this trip around the world through a travel company called STA Travel. The basic concept of this trip, if you're wondering how this works, is a multi-city airline ticket, but with more than 2 or 3 destinations. When we book our trip wtih STA we can choose as many stops in the world as we want, and we have one year to do our traveling. We, however, are only picking 9 destinations and will be gone for 55 days. This trip is for students/youth only and is sold at a much cheaper price than you can imagine... but it's still expensive!

I bet you're wondering how it is that we can just up and leave for 55 days and not have any concern about it. Well, here is how we have been blessed: We have both either recently graduated from college or will be graduated before our wedding and have no real commitments; Daniel has a great job offer in California, and his company is encouraging him to take as much time off after graduating as he wants; YOU our loving friends and family want to help us get there (or get back if that's how you want to look at it); and finally we have been blessed with our youth. The organization that is arranging this trip, STA Travel, is a student and youth travel company and in just two years, we will contractually be too old to take this trip. The time is now!

We love traveling. We think that travel is the best way to grow as people, the best way to become closer to each other, the only way to see, understand, and appreciate all people from all walks of life, and the only thing we ever want to spend our money on. We will forever be bitten by the travel bug, and this is the first stop of many for the rest of our lives.

Don't be afraid to give as much as you want, we won't hold it against you. The best part about it is that when you give a gift, we get an email that tells us what you gave and we'll send you a photo when we get back! We love you all and thank you for your love and support.
