As you already know if you have linked to this site, we do not need a large number of new things for our apartment in Seattle.

However, if you wish to give us a gift, we cannot imagine a better gift than an experience we can have on our honeymoon... and remember for the rest of our lives! Please see the registry for descriptions of some of the things we have researched and plan to do during our time in Mexico.

For our honeymoon we'll be heading to the Riviera Maya in Mexico (south of Cancun) to stay at a time share resort on the beach and explore the surrounding area. We plan on extending the trip by a few days to head farther south to Tulum and inland a bit to see the Chichen Itza Mayan ruins. It's a place neither of us has been and we are excited to spend our first couple weeks as a married couple learning about the ecosystem and culture, relaxing by the beach, and enjoying good food and wine.

Night in the "Hotel Nueva Vida" in Tulum. We'll be staying in an ocean-front bungalow in this eco-lodge that uses solar and wind power. We'll fall asleep to the sound of the waves along the quiet beach.

Car rental for a day. In order to get around to experience all of these amazing places, we will need some transportation, and since the bus system appears to be lacking in this area, it appears that a car is the best way to do it on a short schedule.

Dinner for two at La Cueva del Chango. This restaurant's name in English means "Cave of the Small Monkey" - apparently this place is located in a real cavern, and there are two monkeys who hang out in the back of the place. Sounds intriguing!

Salsa Dancing night out: It's not a secret, Marie loves to dance. You can see for yourself at our wedding. So to satisfy her need for dancing, Latin American style, we will head out to the hippest dance club in town, the Mambo Cafe.
